“Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.”

Clanmother, my American calendar says MLK day is on January 20 so I completely forgot the actual day of his birthday till I saw your post. Thanks for reminding me about this amazing man of our lifetime.

He was indeed a man for our generation and for those that follow. I always liked his definition of faith:
“Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.” Martin Luther King Jr.

If humans can’t be kind to each other, what hope do we have as a race? Kindness solves a great many things. Thank you

Wasn’t he remarkable light in the midst of darkness! His voice continues to inspire and challenge us to stand firm on universal themes of human rights. His words, “I have decided to stick to love…Hate is too great a burden to bear.” reminds me of the Dalai Lama’s “My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.”
